Lime and Turquoise lariat

Create Jo Tinley’s versatile project, which can be worn as a chunky lariat, or around the waist as a funky belt.

GATHER THESE SUPPLIES

  • 30 Lime glass beads
  • 30 Turquoise glass bead
  • 50 Silver metal beads
  • 5 Large plastic links
  • 300cm Black beading cord
  • Glue

STEP BY STEP

1 Cut six 50cm lengths of cord. Knot the end of one cord and thread on a silver bead, knot and thread on two lime beads, knotting between each.

2 Now alternate between turquoise and lime, knotting after every bead to create a strand with a total of 21 beads. Thread on a plastic link and knot in place tightly.

3 Repeat to create an identical second strand and add the plastic link. This creates the sections at either end of the lariat.

4 Thread two silver beads, one turquoise, two silver, one lime, two silver, one turquoise, two silver, one lime, two silver, one turquoise and two silver onto another cord, knotting between each.

5 Repeat to make four of these sections and use them to join the large plastic links creating one continuous length. Add a little glue to each of the knots.
